Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and whether we want to admit it or not, it’s one of the hallmark days in the year that we ALL have an opinion on. I’m not sure which is more cliché – to love or loathe it, but regardless of which side of the fence you sit, you can still have a ball!
Single? Taken? Who cares! I’ve always looked at Valentine’s Day as a celebration of love, (AND the perfect excuse to get all dressed up!) I popped into Blush earlier in the week to pick out my favourite pieces – all suitable for Valentine’s Day, whatever you’ve got planned!
Oh and before we dive in, I have a discount code for you! Use, ‘Melissa10’ for 10% off everything!
Forget the LBD, it’s Valentine’s Day! The perfect occasion to throw on some pink. This little number is super flattering for every figure, the wrap over style top can be worn as low as you’re comfortable with – it would look absolutely gorgeous worn as an extreme plunge or equally, if you have a bigger bust like me, you can just wrap as shown. As a girl who isn’t 100% comfortable with her arms, the addition of sleeves is always a bonus for me, and this dress also has amazing shoulder detail which gives it so much structure and made me feel very Carrie Bradshaw-esque! The ruched detailing in the bottom half is also amazingly flattering and gives you the option of adjusting the length!
Classy enough for a fancy dinner? Yes! Flirty enough for a girls night out? Yes! You’ll get endless wear out of this beauty, oh, and did I mention? IT’S ON SALE!!

The clue is in the name, wear this one for cosmo’s with the girls! Kevan Jon is an INCREDIBLE designer – I need to just point that out. I have never tried on so many dresses that were all SO flattering! He is a magician. Originally, I was sceptical, I didn’t think this one would flatter my shape, I thought the material would cling in all the wrong places, but I was so wrong. The way this fabric ruches across the stomach, the way the arms are cut – this dress is a dream! It’s elegant but also a little sexy – exactly what you want for Valentine’s Day! And again, it’s on sale! (I love a bargain can you tell?)

If dresses aren’t your style, a jumpsuit is a great alternative. I love this one because it has amazing tuxedo detailing around the collar and the cut somehow elongates my short little legs! The V neckline shows just the right amount of cleavage and I decided to pop on a statement belt just to add something more to do it, but it also looks great without.
I would class this as an investment piece, not only is it great for dinner or a night out, but there are so many different ways to wear this. Try a white shirt underneath or a smart jumper over top and you’ll also have two fab workwear looks. I’m all about getting value for my money and getting as much wear out of my clothes as possible!
Now I had to be realistic – this is Northern Ireland and it’s freezing so I added this incredible fur coat. I went for pink for obvious reasons and I’m in love!

Fur Coat £197
Have you ever fallen head over heels in love with a dress? I suppose valentines is the right time of year to do so! I cannot even explain how obsessed I am with this piece. Another Kevan Jon creation and quite possibly the most versatile and flattering piece of clothing I have ever worn. The neckline can be adjusted – off the shoulder, high neck, cowl neck are the 3 styles I’m showing you here. The length can also be adjusted – short, midi or floor length. This means this dress is perfect for so many occasions and can be worn again and again. A fancy dinner, a night out, even a formal! This one really is a showstopper!
If your valentine’s plans include drinks at your local with the girls, or maybe a first date where you don’t want to feel to OTT then this is what I would wear. It’s still super glam, but really it’s just the age old, ‘jeans and a nice top!’
This is actually a dress but I wanted to show you how versatile it is, I added the belt which shortened the length and gave me back my shape, while also giving off more of a tunic vibe which makes it work so nicely with black jeans!
Such a comfortable look to wear, but the sequins make it look like you’ve tried way more than you have! Another investment piece, this little dress would look amazing on a night out – black over the knee boots and a leather jacket or a little pair of strappy heels and you’re good to go! P.s It’s also on sale!

If you want to take the look to the next level, (and stay warm!) Add an incredible fur coat, I went for grey this time because I really felt it complimented the silver!
Faux Fur Coat £260
I think if there’s one area that most females will agree we feel comfortable about having exposed, it’s the décolletage. A bardot style top or dress is so flattering and one of my favourite styles to wear, I love to pop some highlighter on my collarbones and shoulders for that extra glow.
I can’t find fault with this design, it is made to flatter the body, the ruching compliments every curve and makes you feel so confident! The pinstripe gives it a little more interest instead of a simple block colour and I just adore it. As well as for a night out or a fancy Valentine’s dinner, I’d wear this to a wedding!
